School Bus Shuffle started with a simple question: what if a parking puzzle was also a color-and-capacity puzzle? Every school bus has a white roof arrow, a route color, and two, three, or four seats. Students wait in matching color groups. A bus can leave the crowded lot only when the straight road ahead of its arrow is clear, and it cannot leave the pickup zone until every seat is full.

Read the first group before tapping

I always begin with the first visible student group. Color tells me which route I need, while the number tells me which bus size will clear that group cleanly. Sending a larger bus for a smaller group may leave empty seats and keep that pickup bay occupied.

Follow the roof arrow to the edge

Buses can point north, east, south, or west. Before I tap one, I trace a straight line from its arrow to the edge of the parking lot. If another vehicle crosses that line, the bus is blocked. I then look for a clear bus that removes the blocker without filling a bay I will need next.

Protect one empty pickup bay

The early school days give you room to experiment. Later puzzles reduce the pickup zone to two bays. I try to keep one bay open whenever the next color group is not already covered. Filling every bay with the wrong colors creates a real traffic jam.

Use bus size as part of the solution

Short buses hold two students, medium buses hold three, and long buses hold four. Color alone is not enough in the later levels. The best move matches both the next color and the size of its group, allowing the bus to fill and depart immediately. You can see the tiny riders through the windows while they board.

Plan the crowded days

The later school days mix horizontal and vertical vehicles in denser layouts while reducing the number of pickup bays. There is no timer, so I stop and read several arrows ahead. The difficult part is finding an order that clears the traffic path and keeps the next student color moving at the same time.
